A Texas Cycling Jersey - Ride With Pride!

Telling a Texan to have pride by wearing a Texas cycling jersey? The pride part isn’t any problem. The cycling jersey part? Maybe. I get a kick out of any admonition for a Texas cyclist to have pride. That’s like telling a dog to sniff the butt of his friend. No encouragement needed, it just happens! No offense intended.

I know that dogs have tender egos.

One thing I like about Texans- they have thick skins.

Two things I don’t like about Texans- They have long memories and powerful six shooters.

Back to the subject at hand,- how about a Longhorn cycling jersey to show some Texas pride? Not long ago I saw a Sports Illustrated article pitting the mighty Longhorns against Stanford for the best athletic school in the nation. I think that Stanford may have edged out Texas. And I think I know why.

NOT ENOUGH TEXAS CYCLING JERSEYS on the streets of Austin! That’s right, the balloters considered all things athletic. In a close contest such as this, it only takes one more enthusiastic cheer at a Longhorn/sooner game (notice how I didn’t capitalize sooner? Butt kissing. ) 0nly one more Longhorn cycling jersey spotted on Martin Luther King Blvd to tilt the balloting balance. Over the edge and Stanford eats bovine dust! Nothing you can do about it now, but how about next time?
