Is A Stanford Cycling Jersey Only For The Elite?

So you wear a Stanford cycling jersey. Are you a poser or do you have a Stanford degree? The jersey looks pretty good, as cycling jerseys go, but there are a lot of nicer looking one’s around (take a look at the Colorado State cycling jersey- before it was discontinued).

Of course, my affinity toward such a garish product as the CSU jersey may serve to preclude me from being permitted to step foot on the hallowed grounds of the Stanford polo fields. But what’s my point?

Well the Stanford cycling jersey looks pretty routine in the world of college jerseys. So what’s the motivation for wearing one? If you’re a Stanford graduate or current student, the jersey’s a good way to insinuate that your neurons fire more rapidly and accurately than do the neurons of the rest of us knuckleheads. If you’re not a graduate or student and you are wearing a Stanford cycling jersey, you’re telling us that your neurons aren’t performing up to your expectations (you’re a poser). stanford cycling jersey

And then there’s that other conundrum. Why didn’t the school have the guts to stick with their mascot, the Indians, even in the face of political ridicule?

They could have made the point that by and large it’s the Stanford graduate that sets social policy, not the rest of the losers in the nation. The Stanford graduate sporting the mighty Stanford jersey with a fierce warrior on the front is the mover and shaker who tells the rest of the country how to conduct business. But what’s this I hear?

Public outcry!!! And then a withering of the Stanford Indian resolve.

The mighty have fallen and are now known as the ‘Red Color’. The school has made it abundantly known that ‘Cardinal’ denotes the color red and not the bird, lest the Audubon Society alert to a further trespass. And to clarify, the symbol for the Cardinal is a tree. Huh? winker

Oh well, I’ve had my fun with some of the struggles in the Stanford saga. I actually appreciate the Cross-Country and Track meets they host, and from which my kids have benefited. And we owe it all to the Stanford cycling jersey! How's that again?

Stanford Cycling Jersey Features

  • 100% microfiber polyester fabric
  • Quick-drying moisture transfer (due to the microfiber polyester fabric)
  • Three pockets in the rear
  • Neck zipper for ventilation and exposure of chest hairs
  • Officially licensed and approved by each college (without this who knows what they’d do with your mascot).
  • Sublimated image (sublimation is a process by which the ‘ink’ is transferred onto the jersey from a vapor to a solid without ever going through the liquid phase. This makes for a more effective bonding of fabric and graphic)
  • And if you just don't have enough Stanford trinkets, hats, clothing, or items designed to pull the dust out of the air you can check out the selection at FansEdge.com. You'll have to navigate the drop down menu of 'NCAA: College', but I've got faith in you.
